Which brings me to sleep. It took Sam 5 days to adjust and Cela a very quick 2 days, but each still has a new routine. Sam shares a room with me and Ronnie, which we hoped would be temporary, but his new habit of waking at 5am doesn't bode well for moving him in with Cela! Nonetheless, they both nap beautifully and Cela is the first to tell us when she is ready for a snooze!!
Sam's lovey named "kelev" has officially been retired, after Sam's teething caused a fatal injury to his nose.
Our dear friends Mike and Ana have come for short, but wonderful visits. Neither has seen Cela since she was 1, and of course hadn't met Sam. We love them so much for working around our crazy schedule!!
Cela finally got to go on her first train ride, which we've been talking about for days. She insisted on getting out of the stroller and standing while holding the railing like the "big kids and grownups". She loved every minute so we stayed on for many extra stops to enjoy the ride.
Coolest re-purposing ever at First Station...a revival of the very first train station in Jerusalem. When we were here in 2011, it was a ramshackle area that was a real shame. Today it is a thriving location with restaurants, bars, a walking history trail, rentable bikes and motorized vehicles that can travel the original train tracks for 6 miles. There is a shaded and mostly free kids area filled with building blocks, picnic tables, mats and gathering space. We have gone to music classes and a gymboree there as well. The kids love it, and Ronnie and I even got a quiet lunch while the kids napped in the stroller this week!
